Help! My YM2200 blows droplets of oil out the exhaust after running for 10 minutes or so. I bought it used and it definitely had some top end work done as evidence of the new head gasket. Possibly forgot to put umbrella seals on valves, bad oil control rings? Any help is greatly appreciated.

That usually points to valve stem seals or oil control rings letting oil past. Since it’s had top-end work, double-check the seals and ring installation. A compression and leak-down test can help pinpoint the problem before tearing more apart.

Thanks Alan,
Started the tear down and discovered no valve stem seals! Ordered some from Fredericks. Still looking for a thermostat as there was not one also! Any info is greatly appreciated.

Nice work tracking that down, no valve stem seals will definitely do it. Glad Fredericks had what you needed there. On the thermostat, worth checking with them too since they clearly stock YM2200 parts, or post the exact model and year in your thread, some of the guys here have parts stashes and might know a good source or even have a spare kicking around.
