I have a thitch on my YM330 and recently it began showing signs of jerky lifting. It was smooth up until about a week ago. What could be the problem and how to identify it?

Have you noticed any leaks or weird noises that might point to a worn pump, dirty filter, or air in the system?
usually the hydraulic fluid level is the culprit in this kind of problem. this is the first thing I usually check.
If the fluid is low, the pump might be sucking air, which will definitely make the hitch act all jerky and weird.
Check it on level ground, with the hitch fully lowered, according to the manual's instructions (sometimes it's a dipstick, sometimes a sight glass).
If it's low, top it up with the correct fluid type (usually a universal tractor fluid, but check the manual)

So I checked everything, there was no leaks anywhere that I could see but the level was low and it was kinda foamy. Can I just replace the fluid and be done with it, or there's a bigger problem I'll need to work on first?
